    How to: Dried Orange Slices

    12.18.2020 · create, diy · 0

Dried orange slices are perfect for adding some holiday flare to any space. You can use them for gift wrapping, wreaths, or even garlands to hang around the house. So today I’m going to share a fail proof way to dry orange slices without burning them.

How to Make Dried Orange Slices

They key to making the perfect dried orange slices is low heat and longer cook time. I read a lot of recipes where people mentioned that they burned their oranges. So take your time with this one.

    What you’ll need:

    • Oranges (I used 5)
    • Sharp Knife (I have this set)
    • Cutting Board
    • Baking Sheet
    • Parchment Paper
    • Some holiday music!

Step 1: Cut your oranges into thin slices

You want to evenly cut each of the slices to a similar width. This will help keep the drying even and will help avoid burning them.

Step 2: Preheat oven to 200℉

Step 3: Evenly lay your oranges your baking sheet with parchment paper.

You can do multiple baking sheets if you run out of room.

    Step 4: Place in oven

You’re going to want to bake these for 2.5-4 hours depending on your oven. I set a timer for 1 hour and flipped. Continue this process until all your oranges are completely dry.

If you notice that some are getting darker or more dry even though others have moisture still, then you can take those off the baking sheet to avoid burning them.

Step 5: Let cool and enjoy!
