It’s almost here! Christmas is almost here! 2017 is almost here! Can you believe it? Where did this year go? If you’re like me, you waited until the last-minute to shop, wrap, and get the Christmas party started. It’s OK, you’re not alone. Good news though, I finished and that means time to make a beauty gift for some friends.
Nothing says Christmas like a peppermint sugar scrub. It’s just smells like Christmas and your friends will love it in the form of a sugar scrub.
Peppermint Sugar Scrub
This is such an easy recipe that you can make with any scent or essential oil that you have on hand.
Ingredients & Supplies
- 1/2 cup of oil (grapeseed, coconut or almond oil)
- 1 cup of sugar (granulated or raw)
- 10-15 drops of peppermint essential oil (more or less to your liking)
- Mason jar–>I like using these ones for my DIY beauty scrubs.
All you need to do is mix all your ingredients together and viola! You have a peppermint sugar scrub. Easy right?
NOTE: Make sure your oil isn’t hot or too warm because it will dissolve the sugar and we don’t want that. Also, if you’re using coconut oil you will want to melt it (I put mine in the microwave for two 15 second intervals) but make sure it isn’t hot.
I did one batch with coconut oil and one with grapeseed oil. Grape seed oil has a yellow tint, as do most oil, so your scrub will have an off white tint to it (see photo above).
Along with this scrub, I wrote a tutorial on how to make your own mason jar lid labels here. You can use this tutorial to design your own labels or artwork.
How cute are these lids?
