    Weekend trip to Dallas, Texas

    11.15.2017 · travel · 0

Getting on a plane to somewhere exotic and far away would be a dream! But then again our own country has so much to offer and explore, the adventures are never-ending. I’ve been trying to make an effort to visit new places and see places I’ve never seen before. So when your best friend lives in Texas, you take a trip!

I traveled to Dallas, Texas with some of my favorite people including my boyfriend Andrew and my brother from another mother Will!

    DAY 1, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26TH

Our first stop after landing in Dallas we rented a car and headed straight to Waco to visit….Magnolia Market!!!

If you’re a fun of Fixer Upper, you know Joanna Gaines opened up a little place called Magnolia Market + Garden at the Silos. It is a cute little place where they sell farmhouse inspired decor, Fixer Upper memorabilia, have games for all ages, and you can even grab a bite to eat.

We traveled 1,341+ #MilestoMagnolia to check out this amazing place. It was so worth it! We went on a Thursday so the crowds were pretty low. I think the bakery was the most crowded attraction.

Every little detail at Magnolia Market couldn’t be more perfect! And of course before we left I had to grab a kiss in front of the silos! You know for “The Instagram”! lol 😉

Our next stop was the Dr. Pepper Museum that was literally just a hop and a skip away! Did you know that Dr. Pepper was created in Waco in the 1880’s? Yup they got their start in Waco at Morrison’s Old Corner Market that sadly no longer stands but the museum was pretty neat!

There were so many old bottles and artifacts and it was really interesting to see how the design changed over time.

After the museum there’s a little gift shop and ice cream/pop parlor where we grabbed ourselves some bottled Dr. Pepper. Pop just taste so much better in a bottle, don’t you agree?

    “I’m a Pepper, He’s a Pepper, We’re a Pepper.”

Later that night we arrived in Garland, TX where my best friend lives and went to a country bar which was a ton of fun.

    DAY 2, FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27TH

Friday was our Fort Worth Stock Yards day! I was so excited to visit the Stockyards for the history and of course the shopping! 🙂 We did our shopping first and then headed into the Stock Yards. They boys got new black hat customized at The Best Hat Store. You can pick out the quality hat you want and they shape it just how you want. It was pretty cool to see the process in action.

    This was Will’s finished hat.

Only in Texas can you sit on a Texas Longhorn! This steer was massive but so gentle. If you ever visit the Stock Yards you can watch the daily cattle drive down the main street. We were too busy stuffing our face with BBQ that we missed it but we still got to check out the other sites. They were also having a cowboy gathering festival while we were there which was like stepping back into the wild west.

The Stock Yards was so much fun! We shopped too much, drank too much, and danced our butt’s off at Billy Bob’s that night. I didn’t take my camera because of the fear of dropping or losing it. But we had a blast and I definitely recommend visiting the Stock Yards.

    DAY 3, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28TH

Saturday was pretty much our last full day in Texas. We started things off right at the Waffle House! If you live where Waffle House is everywhere you might not think it’s that big of a deal but man do I love Waffle House!

The rest of the day we watched the Ohio State game, which was freakin’ amazing if you missed it! I was sure they were done during the 3rd quarter against Penn State…But they came back and won by 1 point!

Later on that night we went to a Halloween party which was a ton of fun. We were a group of minions this year. This was probably the most comfiest and most clothing I’ve worn on Halloween lol! Minus my deer costume.

Texas was such an amazing time to say the least! I’m so happy I got to visit my best friend in her new home state. Now onto planning our next trip! I’m thinking it might involve a tent. 🙂

P.S. Vlog is coming soon! It just takes me forever to edit! lol

What are must see places in Texas that you’ve been to? Let me know in the comments below.

This looks like so much fun! My husband and I are always down to visit places in the U.S. and Dallas is definitely on our list. My husband thinks anywhere he can wear his boots and not stick out like a sore thumb is the perfect place for him 😉

Ahhhh I have got to see Magnolia! I am jealous. I am going to Fort Worth in January for work and wondering if I will have time to venture…

This looks like such a fun trip! I recently went to Texas for the first time (Austin, not Dallas) and I’m looking forward to exploring more!
